STOLEN / %$@*^#^%

Post by saxman »

I have been very sick lately and have not been to the woods much.
I went last night to sit in a blind but decided to corn up the other stand sites before my sit.

One of my ground blinds has been stolen as well as my homemade pipe feeder. They did leave my folding chair.

This is 4.600 acres of GATED property with access to MEMBERS ONLY,or supposed to be.
Now I guess I have to move all my sites.
I made my spots easy to get to and well marked so members with kids who wanted to hunt could use my spots and hunt without having to go deep in the woods.I was trying to be giving and share with others and this is the pay back.

This hasn't happened to me in a while and it just made me sick.

first of all i am sorry that happened to you. either the person liked walking trespassing or they were a member and unlocked the gate to have access. i know how you feel as someone took my new ladder stand last year. they shot the cable & lock off. some ppl will do anything at anytime.

Scum! Sorry to hear that. I had someone steal a brand new hang on stand this year. Only sat in it twice.

*Mutters something about a-holes*

This is pretty much the reason why I have not purchased a tree stand or built any. The property owner that gives me permission for where we hunt will let anyone on his land to go for walks or bring their excess leaves, wood, outdoor junk and he burns it for them during one big event.

The traffic that is generated on the property always brings someone who's interested in "what's going on there on that tree with the stand??"...

May be someone day i'll build a stand, but for now i'm young and content with using the ground to blend right in.

Sorry for the loss..

They tried to get my ladder stand a few hundred yards away but it was cable locked.
I will move it all.

I am going to post a bluff note at the sign in shack that I DO have a picture of the person who stole it and they have one week to return it or I will press charges.

What do you think?

I wouldn't do that, Sax, 'cause it isn't true. Why tell a lie to scare a thief? Your integrity is more valuable than the lost property. No one can take your honesty from you. I wouldn't write down something that's not true.

I think you're mad right now, and we understand, but I believe you'll see what I mean when you cool down.

Think it over, buddy.

You asked!

hey Sax,

Couple of ideas.. talk to everyone in your group in case they moved it for you to another location to set you up for a good hunt,

Post a note telling everyone to help keep an eye out that your looking for your stuff and if they've seen any trespassers-it's a softer sell type message,

if someone stole it in your group they'll not bring it back and you don't want to look bad through a mis-interpreted note.

good luck,

sax, if it wer eme personally, i wouldnt hunt with them anymore. Its becoming obivious someone there isnt on your best side. Whats gonna happen next? someone's gonna end up firing a load through the woods and someone's gonna get hurt. Im dunno what group you hunt with, but I think I would move and go elsewhere. Unless you have nowhere else to hunt, its going to be no fun wondering what stand will get stolen next. After that, I wouldnt trust anyone so I definitly wouldnt trust them with guns in the same woods with me.. thats just my personal opinion

its not worth it there :!:
