Catalog is American.

Catalogue is Canadian - English and French. I find that more and more Canadians are using American English though. Especially those of us that read a lot of books/mags by American writers.

That's another reason. Most of us have windows set to US English as the default language / regional setting. You can change that easily but why bother?
