Towerstands

Post by butch »

Anybody got any plans or have built a free standing tower stand. I want somethhing big enough to be comfortable in, in our winters. I want to spend my hunting time in comfort.

Ya must mean tripod stands !

Towers are different - or you can dig a hole and put up a hydro pole !

Most big box stores have them.

I prefer a two man ladder stand; only because of my girth! LOL!!

Leave the concrete jungle behind and just go hunting !

No im on really rocky land. Im looking for a treefort without the trees. $ posts, 20 feet up big enough for 2 people with kit. -25 degree hunts are starting to suck.

Best one I have ever seen is a small trailer, put up on big 8 by 8 posts, with a set of stairs up to the front door.
This guy even ran power from his house, and has a TV,and all the comforts of home!
I would estimate he is up about 12 feet to the bottom of the trailer.
He was into heavy equipment, and had all the right toys to get it up there!
Quite the set up!

I have built a couple for friends. No plans though. Used 6x6's for posts and then just built a deck and added walls and roof and windows. Not that high though. Bout 12 feet to the deck platform

My guy's trailer was about half that height, with a slightly bigger trailer.
Right in Marshburg,PA,if you want to see it!
Yours is definitely in the nosebleed section!!

tower stands

Lookaround for some old scaffolds the metal ones , usally in 6 ft heights.you will need 6pcs of scaffold,6 braces and 4adjustable legs 4or5 pieces of plywood to make the box and some roll roofing. some2x2 to screw in the corners so that it can screw together at the corners. You will end up with a blind that is 8'x4'x18' tall very sturdy and cover the outside with tarpaper and put a little propane heater and your set for a nice warm hunt. if you live where its windy tye it down with guide wires
