I guess this string is toast! One of the stoppers on my STS wore through in about 50 shots. I had the string set up about a 1/16" off of the stopper. I guess my mistake was that I didn't serv the string where the stopper makes contact.....

Yep....it wore through the stopper and hit the rod. The string is an Excalibur Flemish Dacron.

50 shots and your sts bumper wore through? That sounds premature to say the least. I use the sts, and I have well over 50 shots on it with no problem. I dont have my sring served where it meets the sts either. Sure does seem weird

I think they should have lasted a lot longer. Funny thing is the one on the right side sore through. The one on the left is still solid.

If you sent in your warranty card the bumpers are warranted for a year. Have you cut your rods down?

Something has to be wrong either the setup or defective bumper.
I have probably almost 150 shoots on mine and no problem.

Hey globemountain, did you ever dry-fire that bow with the STS on?

Do you have your string set up right for the STS? You only want the string just touching the STS in the un-cocked position. My STS stoppers have at least an inch of material between the rod and the string. I cut my rods off to make them fit my Phoenix better and then turned the flat piece of rod to the inside of the stopper. It would take a very hard lick to drive my rod through my STS stopper. I have had mine on for about a month now and have shot my Phoenix a lot without any problems.
