mag tip or carved tip?

for my dumb question of the month..
today i came home with a new to me vixen xbow..i know it has the carved tips on it,but the string on it looks identical as the stock string for my exomax,which has the mag tips..
so does this vixen have the wrong string on it?
how do you tell the difference by just looking at the string?

Sorry fogdocker but the dacron and fastflight come in so many colours .So it is hard to say just by looks what the string is .

Mag tips will shoot any string, but you have to have Dacron with carved tips.. So as long as they are Mags, you are good to go!

dacron endless loop old style was blk with grey serving, new style is blk with blk serving. never had a flemish in dacron so i know not the color setup

ok every thing is black string except the serving,i,ll say the serving is a lime green color..

i reckon it maybe a dacron string then. carved tips are sweet! i have a 1998 vixen myself. love it

is there a way to identify what year the bow i got was made?

describe the vixen, 98-99 were blk with grey camo leaves. 96-97 had a diff camo setup. so its one or the other.

there both the same size

nice bow, looks close to the exocet 165 too. does it have the automatic safety or manual
