I started out with a 3 inch thick piece of wood and ended up with a stock. this was very hard wood to work with.

Looks like some kinda Tiger Wood. Very unique, it should sell fast.

Nice figure to that wood - looks great!
Yes, maple can be tough to work, but it makes a beautiful stock.
