Target
In search for a good target for my Equinox. I was able to get my 6mth pregnant wife to shoot my bow today after the first shot she wanted to shoot again and again. It was a great time. I had my one year old in a backpack built to carry kids on my back, the whole family was involved and having a good time. Time for a nice target, one that will not take a slide hammer to remove the arrows, any suggestions? I may have to start looking for a Xbow for my wife too!

Most everyone wants to get by cheap when looking for targets ... and that's why most everyone's always looking for targets!
For just a little more of the beloved cash, you can have a target that will make all of the other targets look lame indeed.
Take a careful look at these Pacific Bow Butts targets. They will long outlast anything else that's been mentioned. Read the testimonials:

There is a reason many archery ranges prefer these targets.
It's the same reason I prefer them.
I have two. Highly recommended!

+1 on the spiderweb. I don't have a lot of experience with the various targets, but the spiderweb absolutely amazes me with its easy arrow removal. Their claims to the self-sealing holes appear to be true.pdislow wrote:call wyvern creations and order a spiderweb target.
I can't imagine this target wearing out in the near future. Field points only, though.

Bob, I've got a Spot Butt and a Little Butt ... or the nearest equivalent to them at that time. When I bought the Spot Butt a couple of years ago, they weren't yet making a target specifically for crossbows. I had talked to the owner on the phone and he was keenly interested in having folks who shoot crossbows try his targets out. When I gave the owner (one very nice guy) a report and said that the arrows were tough to get out, he sent me a Little Butt free and said to see if that was better! It was. They loosen up when shot.bstout wrote:Grizz, which two do you have? I was just eyeing the Pacific crossbow butt for $99.00 including shipping.
I've got the phone in one hand and my paid up plastic in the other. The credit card companies don't like me because I always pay them off long before they're due.
Any suggestions before I release the monetary prisoners?
They were cheaper then. I don't remember how much. My shooting hasn't hurt them at all ... but as you see from the testimonials, they are very durable.
I'm sure someone's mileage will vary, but all I've seen and heard is good.
As this thread proves, everyone has their ideas about targets.
My Exomax was putting arrows in clear past the fletches on a BLOCK target ... that's why I looked for something else.
Good luck!

Same here. The Crossbow king can be hard giving up the arrows at first so I would recommend an arrow puller to help get the arrows out if you go that route. What ever you do don't shoot them with a field point. You will have a helluva time getting it out. I knew that it was not meant for field tips but I did it anyway. I won't do that again.Woody Williams wrote:Broadheads... The Crossbow King by American Whitetail Targets.

Targets
I've been useing this block almost 6yrs, I probably can shoot field pts for ever in it, how ever I shoot BHs more so I may have to buy a new something in a yr or so if you want your target to last spread your shots out
