Trail Cam card readers....

Post by crazyfarmer »

anyone have any experience with any of them? Im at the point now where I need one since I have all my cards out. Its going to cost just as much to get cards as a 100-150buck reader. I need something that can transfer and delete.

ive looked at the Cuddeview which has all the features I want, but its about 50-20bucks more than the rest. I use SD cards.

Mike P: any advice here since im sure you have a cuddeview :P

I just like the idea of checking the cam in the woods so if the cameras to high or not pointed right I can find out there and move it :D The cuddeview is rechargable also while the others take AA's. I know, it sounds like my mind is made up, but I just wanted to see if anyone has a Bushnell viewer also which is about 100-120bucks

I use my regular digital camera. It takes the same card. I can view the pics on the spot and delete the ones I don't want but most of the time I just switch it out and bring the used one back in my camera.

I use my Garmin GPS, it has a card slot and a picture viewer.

We have two Cuddeviews. We would never be without them. When you have so many cameras out bringing them in and out of the woods is just not an option. Plus CF, you edit at camera site and only bring home the pics you want, not hundreds you don't want. Also, you disturb the camera site less pulling a card instead of pulling a camera.

You are also correct regarding test pictures being taken at the time you place the camera. This feature alone might be worth the entire price of the Cuddeview.

Now the bad.

We finally have two that work. It took us four tries to get two that worked, we had to send two back. From doing research it seems like you get a really good one or you get one that breaks in a week.

In addition, when we bought ours they did not come with the charger and you had to buy that separate. That kind of ticked me off and I went to Big Lots and got a universal charger with all the different plugs for about six bucks and it charges the cuddeviews perfectly as well as anything else (ie cell phones, etc.) we take out to the farm.

You will come to view the cuddeview as one of the best tools you have in your arsenal.

And this is my FIRST pic with the new Moultrie. I am surprised this lower end camera has such nice color and clarity. Didn't expect it. Guess I'll have to get more.
