Project Aluminum Cowackers

Post by crazyfarmer »

Well, this is my first aluminum wrapped and fletched arrow shaft. All I could find raw were the Team Realtree XX75's which are the same as the camo style ones. 2216 shaft with aluminum front and rear inserts. Weight is 348 without a fieldtip and I highly reccomend a 125grain tip or even the 150gr boltcutters with these to help with the FOC. With a 125grain tip, FOC would be around 13% compared to the 16.5 %FOC on the gold tip carbon shafts by my calculator

Image

Ive got 12 of these, 6 fletched with white wraps and blazers.. just gauging interest on these since they will be collectors items... first made of the Metal wacker lineup :P :D

so if you are looking for a 470grain setup with a 125grain head these are around those specs. Ill post a set for sale shortly but feel free to PM

Sharp!
What does the rest of that shaft look like, is it camo right to the end?

Have you tried any 2114's yet. I found 1 shaft at a sporting goods store, cut it to 20 inches, glued in a brass insert and fletched
with 4 inch feathers . With a 125 field tip , it has a foc of 22 %.
Have'nt been able to shoot yet as the limb on my Equinox split into 2 halfs when I went to cock it. No dry fire, just split after I set the safety. :?

No, the Camo is only what you see. The rest is brown.
Not trying to hijack crazy's thread, but you can change the FOC by using different front weights and still having a 100 gr. head. These aluminiums can be modified from 470 to 530 or anything in between almost.

ditto what John said, the rest is brown. You can somewhat see it. I just couldnt get a good fullsize pic of the shaft with the label and wrap that way.

These are about the only shafts you can find raw in 20 and 22inch...

John, I think you still sell this style also correct? It seems like a good shaft

Yes, they are a very good aluminium shaft. I sell quite a few of those.
I rather like the Half camo and half brown look. You can do quite a bit with these bolts. However I still prefer the Carbons.

Ebay on the arrows, and had to cut them down, these are 20s, going to do some 19in arrows, that will make them a little stiffer, it don't sound like much but it's already been done and they fly like lasers.

Them heifers look right good, there's something about alum accuracy, you won't have them long.
