why compuond bows should be banned from X-Bow season!!

Post by sits in trees »

i believe compounds should be banned from crossbow season for several reasons.

todays mordern compounds are much too light and easy to carry in the woods which promotes lazyness amongst hunters!

you can get a second shot off with a compound too easily making the all important aspect of making your first shot count unimportant, this no doubt brings the type of hunters i don't want into my woods!!

todays compounds are way too quiet with all the new fangled add ons, which gives little chance for a deer to jump the string. this gives an unfair advantage to the hunter which is causing way too many of "my deer" to be shot!!

also the longer arrows that compounds shoot are more stable at greater distances letting hunters take shots that are way too far anyway.

hey guy's anything to add and do you think i should post this in some of the Bow Hunting forums and ruffle some feathers????

Thas a good one S.I.T.
Very clever and well thought out.
I would suggest you leave it here with us though.
We dont want to stoop to their tactics.
I know that you know our goal is to accept and be accepted in all seasons regardless of what weapon someone decides to hunt with, compound shooters included.

I tell you that would ruffle some feathers though, because there wouldn't be much argument to it.
That is VERY good.

I will add
You have easy access to pro shops and parts to repair and ranges to shoot your bow, while we must order parts and we are not allowed at many ranges and clubs.

I think it's best to leave it here, one good reason is when a troll rolls in here sock it to him with this, this is written good and Sax added some to it and I'm sure there is more, make a sticky from it so it will always be at reach, just my thoughts

More people hunt with a compound than x-bows, so they're going to kill all of the deer.

The compound is the poachers tool because it is so quiet.

i hope your not serious, this is the kind of thing that can be blown way out of proportion and spread like wildfire. i haven't been on this site long but i beleive this is the kind of thing that drives sportsmen and women apart and gives the antis more unbased and inaccurate ammo. i personally own just about every kind of hunting weapon there is and i don't want anybody telling me what to use or not to use.

I think it's pretty funny myself. All it is is a reversal of everything negative that some compound shooters (or "traditional archers") say about crossbows. What's the difference in this being on a crossbow site and the other being on a "bowhunting" site?

If someone can't see that it's simply a reversal of the same old anti rhetoric, and if someone truely does become offended by it, then they have no business being on a crossbow site in the first place and simply proves just how shallow they are.

Just as 7magman said, I don't need anyone telling me what kind of weapon they think I should be using. I'll make that decision myself.

"Sits" is just being fastidious. By putting the shoe on the other foot, he's, pointing out how silly the "elite" vertical bow shooters are.

The truth of the matter is that before anyone criticizes, they should walk a mile/kilometer in that other person's shoes.
