Am I mistaken or had that buck been doing some fighting. It looks like he has some scars on his left side.

Grizz is right about trophies. It is just plain silly to compare bucks from different geographic areas.

Taking mature bucks is the challenge regardless of head gear.

That is one tall rack!
Mike, the way he ran in when i hit the can with the other small bucks around he was the mature one in the area. This was right at the very end of the pre rut and bucks were running mad. I know it was 2-3 bigger ones in that area so Im sure he rumbled with them. He's a beaut in person with his swollen neck.

Grizz, true that;) We have a few big boys around but its like winning the lottery :P

sipsey, sometimes a wise old doe is harder to kill that a mature buck. We all know how sneaky women can be when they age :P :P HAHAHAHHA

bad thing is after you get one, you always want something extra on it LOL... 2 more years he may have grown mass, but thats a long time to make it on somewhat public land :?

We call 'em "lead does" down here (because they lead groups of does) ... and early in my bowhunting years, I came to HATE a few of them because they busted me so regularly!   :P :P :P

Nice mount CF.......your gonna need a new addition on the house to hang all those fine VA bucks. You need to think ahead and build it now, you still have 40-50 good years of hunting left in you. :D

OK . . .that's the norm . . .and, I might add, the reason we are such good hunters.

Only a few real men can have as many toys as they want and still be married . . .like Boo, for example. 8)
