Shooting Sticks?
Hi,
Any of you folks use shooting sticks (mono, bi or tri) when hunting? What, when, why?
Thanks...

I started using a monopod, Stoney Point Yukon, last year out of my blind. It makes for a steady shot and less movement. I just rest the bow on it and sit back.
I'll always take it along now with the bow or gun.

If the thrill of the hunt is lost, then I have lost.

The Horton Knee Pod comes in handy. It's adjustable and is under $20. But I just got the Stoney Point Polecat swivel bipod and put the adapter on my bow so it just snaps on. I'll be able to use this for my handgun too because I ordered another adapter.

I hunt exclusively on the ground and I use an inexpensive mono pod all the time when I hunt with my Excal.
lscha,
I was ooking at the Stony Creek Monopods and I was wondering which monopod you are using? I assume that the adapter you ae talking about is the Rapid Pivot Monopod attachment, correct??
Thanks,
Bob

That's correct. Easy on and off but stays in place if you pick up your bow to re-position. And light!Horizontal Hunter wrote:I hunt exclusively on the ground and I use an inexpensive mono pod all the time when I hunt with my Excal.
