It works perfect, keeps track of sunrise/sunset times right to the second, plus the lunar table. You can enter any date you want and it will calculate that too. I have checked it to other tables on may occasions, it is always right.
Off the tables and about that watch.. One other cool thing it does is when you lift it to check the time it automatically turns on the back light. :D

Ok...so it is 3 hours up to the moon transit time

Using the 6:50 am example...major feed is about 4:50 am-6:50 am

6 hours after the moon transit time is a minor feeding...in this case

10:50 am- 12:50 pm

but then what? Is the next major feed 6 hours after?

i.e. 6:50 pm is the next major feed period...deer would feed from 3:50-6:50pm?

There is a lot to this you should be able to pull up some archives under moon transits

I am a little confused on calculating the times to go hunting two major and two minor feeding times ?
I udnerstand the three hours prior to the moon ...
what about the other times.. since rite now here it seems around 7 am, the deer are mainly feeding at 4 am ? it is the other times I am trying to understand... will one of the times be 4pm then due to the 4 am thing ?
I noted the ten days prior and after new moon... thing..
thanks.

I have had pretty much the same experience with Lunar tables that you (Pydpiper) have had...(meaning very good success)...and since I got this Casio watch it is even more convenient to check them...

ou divide the day into four 6 hour segments.

These times will be listed as Major and Minor times.

If transit time is (as today 3:59AM CDT in my area) deer feed 3 hours before transit time(This is a major time).

Count forward 6 hours and you get 9:59AM CDT, deer feed 2 hours prior to this time( this is a minor time).

Count forward 6 hours and you have 3:59PM CDT, deer feed 3 hours prior to this time(Major time).

Count forward 6 hours and you have 9:59PM CDT, deer feed 2 hours prior to this is a minor time.

Deer bed at the transit times, ie,
3:59AM CDT, Major
9:59AM CDT, Minor
3:59PM CDT, Major
9:59PM CDT, Minor
give or take a few minutes

Hope this helps

I was so impressed with Pydpiper's description of his watch I bought one on eBay myself. Can't wait for it to get here from Texas so I can try it out.

Lunar Tables

Post by bbbwb »

This is a general question to all that have followed the moon times influence on hunting and fishing. Are there different "Lunar Tables"? My GPS has info on the sun and moon that I have looked at from tine to time but with no regularity to ascertain any reliable correlation to my hunting activity. Has anyone else used these from the GPS and compared to that of other sources?
I note Pyd, that you have compared your watch to other tables and feel that both tables that you have referred to are the same or very similar.
