Buck 52 shows himself

Post by FredBear »

Againsy my better judgement i'm showing him. Some of you may remeber the last few years I have been posting pictures of a buck we named buck 52. We have pictures of him at 2 1/2 to the present (5 1/2). This is the buck i'm going after first! I have a few other bucks i'm watching ,but 52 has a speical spot in my heart. Then there is a couple pictures of the buck i'm hunting for my cousin. That I posted last week.

I can't believe you posted his picture!!!

Thanks to Fred & Kenton I have been able to view photos of this buck from the time he entered his second season. He is just magnificent. I think he easily crests the 170 inch barrier.

I also believe there is a chance that this is the pinnacle of his rack producing years. He just might not be as good next year. We see bucks that decline in their sixth season. They usually retain their mass but have a tendency to lose two points and revert to main frame eights.

Aaron, I would focus on this buck and no others. It will take one hell of a commitment and you must be willing to sacrifice the opportunities you will have on other substantial animals. I can tell you from what I went through last year that adopting this strategy is one big roller coaster ride for the season. There are a lot of ups, but mostly there are downs. It will really test you. And you have to be willing to face the fact that you just may not tag a buck for the season.

Regardless of the outcome, it will be a season you will never forget.

And in the end, the greatest trophies are the memories.

We are thinking around the 170 mark. The mineral is Lucky Buck I use two minerals Lucky Buck, and whitetail antler magic which is a Heartland product. Those are the best two I have found.

Mike the reason I posted them was some people on here have been watching him grow with us. I figured they would want to see how he really changed on us this year. This is first experience with a buck going from non typical to typical from 4 to 5. Kenton and I weret really expecting him to do this. But that has been him! Not predictable at all. He tends to disappear on us. The woods he is in, and has been in for years is heavily pressured. I would hate to know how many hours Kenton, and I have looked at maps bouncing ideas off each other of where he could jave gone. We know he loves corn fields, but once he goes in it seem he never comes out. This season is going to be one hell of a match. Hopefully we can produce!
