Help - need new target

Post by cline »

My hunting buddies and I all shoot Excalibur crossbows. I just upgraded to a 225lb Equinox and need to purchase a target. I only practice with broadheads so I want a good broadhead target. Any advice on what will stop these screamers?

I have had really bad luck with the Block. 3 practice montec heads and 2 broad heads are buried deep in side. They and the inserts stayed inside when I went to retrieve them. Had to replace 5 bolts and my block looks like a grenade went off in it,

Rhinehart 18-1. I just got it and it works great. If you wear out all sides in a year they will replace it. Even with broadheads.

My husband can pull arrows out but I need Danny Miller arrow pullers.

yeah I actually complained to all three manufactures, Montec, Block, Excalibur. None seemed to interested to help and blamed the "other guy".
So Im back to shooting field tips into a sheet of 2 inch sheet of ethafoam. It looks like the same stuff that they use in the block before they cut it into layers.

The Crossbow King is what I use for broadheads, it performs very well is is only about $50.

Just got an F18 Block Fusion. I'll be doing some shooting on and off this week. I'll let you know what I think

First impression is very good. It is stopping the railroad ties I'm throwing at it about 4" before the vanes with slick trick broad head. Broad head removal is very easy. Haven't lost a broad head yet.

Keep in mind I've only shot about 2 dozen shots at this point. But so far I love it.

What is the idea behind the new Block? I think they call it the "Game Face". It is just sihilouettes different game animals without a good clean spot to aim at. I don't know if more than one of the target faces are like that but I hope not..Might be pretty but I don't shoot at four inch deer.
I don't care if its a circle, diamond or 4" deer. As long as it has multiple spots per side.

two sides have a section deer standing broadside with the vitals outlined. Two sides have multiple targets.

Like I said, after 24 shots its fine. and its definately better then what I had. I shot the same hole twice on my previous target. Had a passthru, went through one of the 1/2" thick pieces of rubber I use as a back stop and lodged in a tree. That tree still has a slick trick in it I couldn't get out.
