I just want to thank you all for helping me on my choice of a new Eqinox.
All I can say is WOW! compared to the old Horton EXP this thing rocks. But, I have a issue with one rear sight screw, rather than forcing it, I will try to replace it, the other screw works fine in both holes. But what size is this little booger, 3mm ? it's not a 4mm or 6-32.

Thanks to all again.
Dave

Wow. A new Equinox! Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

I'll let someone else comment on the size or you might call Dan Miller.
Keep smiling!

Welcome aboard! Glad you're happy with your Excalibur CB. Sorry I can't help you with your sight screw issue.

Take care...

Welcome!

I would try switching the screws around, sometimes that works.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

I don't have my "spare parts" box handy, but they should be either 6-32 or 8-32.

Well I got out my digital calipers and my Starrett thread gage and came up with .132 OD and 40 TPI. 6-40 maybe ? do they make a 6-40?

I did try to switch them around, but that did'nt work. It's a bad screw, the good one works fine in both holes, the bad one won't fit in either. It will just start then it will get very stiff, I'm afraid I'll cross thread or strip the hole out. It's not a real big deal, I want to get a scope mount for it anyway. Unless it will need that screw to mount it. I just thought maybe somebody would know off the top of their head what size it would be.

Thanks
Dave

Hillbilly solution: Find a steel nut that the 'good' screw fits at hdwe store and use it to chase the threads on the 'bad' one. Danny will send you a couple the same day you call him.
