Don't worry about it.

I've been hunting out of gumboots all my life.

Deer pay no attention to areas where you've walked through with rubber boots.

The smell will fade. Leave the boots outside between now and the opener. When I'm deer hunting I'm most often wearing those green felt lined rubber boots from Canadian Tire. I've watched deer walk right up my tracks and even sniff my tree steps without spooking.

HEY, I JUST NOTICED; THIS IS MY 500TH POST!!!! WOOHOO!!! :D :D :D

I had the same thought about a mounth ago.
and got the same responce . i took those boots to maine on a bear hunt.and the first nite out had a cow moose come from down wind to allmost close enough to lick my ear they dont pay any att to that rubber smell at all . the advice that was given to me was on the money.(keep them clean and you will be fine trust me) good luck

When I buy a new pair of boots, the first thing I do is head back to the creek and go for about a mile walk in the water and mud. After that all is well. Occasionally if I fear something go on them, I'll wash with water and baking soda....and then go wading again.

Heading out to the bush in preparation for tomorrows moose bow hunt and you guys made a decision for me. I was thinking my black Cadillac army boots but now will opt for the green sheep boots with the liners. I was unaware about sent in leather or cloth. Rubbers work for me.
