Try your jewelry box.

I'm sure you checked your backpack.

Hmm ... let's see ... (touches fingertips to temples and concentrates intently) ... Yes! I've got it!

It's ... where you last left it! :P

Just funning you, Bugs!

I'm sorry you've mis-located your knife. :( I won't say lost, because you'll probably find it ... indeed, where you last left it.

Sad to say, my psychic abilities are vastly overrated, as I often tell people who think I should be able to know what's going on with them without their telling me! :? :P

I would suggest this as a useful tip: It's good to keep all your working knives in one spot. I have a knife-drawer in the shop, and that's where they all stay, unless they're with me all the time.

Everything in your home should have a "home"! It prevents a lot of stress! :D

I did the same thing a few weeks ago. Started checking for my hunting gear and couldn't find my knife.

I found mine in the pocket of the hunting jacket I was wearing last time I used it. Still had blood on it.

I had stopped looking and had started shopping for a new one.

Hope you find your knife . . .if not, then there sure are some nice ones at the store!

You said the knife has sentimental value. Well, that tells me you wouldn't

likely just throw the thing somewhere. Maybe you put it in a new place, somewhere

real safe, so safe that even you can't find it. I have done that.

Start shopping. Narrow your choices to two. Get really excited because you have made your decision. Then you will find it. Bitter sweet.

I never keep hunting equipment in my jewelry box.

My duck calls kept getting tangled up with my necklaces, and my earrings kept getting lodged in my grunt tubes. :P

Reach way down in the back...waaay under there! :D

If your knife isn't there you should at least find a couple of TeeVee remote controls and a cashew or two...maybe even an M&M.

The M&M is probably still good! :D
   Or enough coins to buy a new one

My duck calls kept getting tangled up with my necklaces, and my earrings kept getting lodged in my grunt tubes.
Got me thinking so I checked my jewelry box and put in my "black diamond" earrings to see if they still went in OK. The holes are still open!
Used to have long hair, a black mustache, and the earrings accented my tattoos.

The ravages of time have changed my looks a little. Today it's a flat top (long hair & plumbing aren't a good combo - too much to wash after crawling through a muddy crawlspace), a gray mustache, and I rarely wear earrings.

As for the knife - don't think about it, but look for something else you desperately need. The knife will magically appear.
