My opener was not meant to be! LOL!

Post by ninepointer »

Since January I have had October 1st blocked off on my calendar as "Opening Day". There was NOTHING that was going to prevent me from an afternoon hunt on opening day. All was fine until about 2 months ago when a strangely disproportionate number events all started to converge on October 1. Meetings, conferences, training courses, requests to work over-time, hard-to-get-appointments, you name it; all on October 1st !!! Not to be denied my hunt, I deflected it all, re-scheduled items, arranged for people to fill in for me, etc.

Then the local minor hockey league phoned: my 6-year old son in his 1st season of Tyke has a practice on the evening of October 1. My little guy all geared up and on skates. Priceless! :D :D :D

I've gladly re-scheduled my first hunt; I'm sure the deer don't mind

This is a one and only "FIRST TIME" for Tyke Hockey. There are just so many "FIRST TIME" for our children and never miss one if at all possible.
You'll never regret it.

There will alway be deer, but before you know it, you'll be looking at a grown son and wondering where all those years went, and your lap will be empty.
Kids are like an investment; your steady attention will produce dividends that you can only dream of.
