In the Doghouse over the Outhouse

Post by ninepointer »

After seeing an on-line classified ad for a blind (described in the ad as an Ameristep Outhouse, but shown as the Doghouse in the seller's pic), I contacted the guy to make sure it was the Doghouse. He assured me it was the Doghouse, just as in his pic. Great! That's the blind I need! (The Outhouse is too narrow for a crossbow IMO)

After 2 weeks of phone calls and e-mails trying to connect with this fellow, I finally arrange to meet him today at his office (which is TINY by the way). Still not 100% postive its the right blind, I ask him again if its the Doghouse. "I'll show you!", he says. Before I know it, he springs open the blind! I quickly jump outside his door while the guy is pinned back against his desk by the blind which is now taking up the entire room!

Well, guess what?! It's the wrong blind, its the Outhouse!!!!

The funny part was, neither of us knew how to fold the spring-steel pop-up blind back up, so I finally thanked him for his time and I left him to wrestle that blind into submission all by himself.

There is a video on their site that shows how to fold it.

Funny story.

The first several times folding the spring steel hoop type blinds can be an exercise in frustration. :? However it doesn't take long before you're an expert at folding them. 8) Folding one in the wind is always a trip.

Take care...
