Excalibur Quiver Mount Blues
OK, folks ... I've gotta say it:
I love my Excalibur Crossbow.
But I hate my Excalibur Quiver Mount.
Well, maybe hate is a strong word ... but I sure don't like it.
This is no slur to Bill, Kath, or the company ... fine folks, all!
I just don't like the way that quiver is mounted.
In my experience, the only thing it's good for is carrying the arrows to the stand ... and it's not all that good at that. I wouldn't think of hunting with it in place. It's in the way when you pick up the bow. It's in the way when the bow is in your lap. It's in the way when you lay the bow down. It's in the way when you prop the bow up. It's in the way when you take a rest. It's ... well, to me, it seems mostly to just be in the way, period.
I realize that some of you probably like it and have no problems with it. That's fine ... but I don't like it, and I do have problems with it.
So ... I'm calling for your personal experiences with alternate mounts, like Dan Miller's, Groundpounder's, and Munch's.
What say ye, all?
Thanks for the opinions and help.

I use the groundpounder and love it.
I took off the excal quiver and put a 3 arrow quickie on there,it sticks out a little far but I like it.
My bow stays in my lap 90% of the time so the factory mount was the first thing to go on my bow.

I tried the Excalibur mount and found it wasn't well suited to carrying my bow with the sling, so I went to a broadhead hip quiver. Then I tried a Dan Miller mount and found it works very well, but is not really heavy-duty construction with part of it being plastic. Didn't have a problem, just didn't trust it to stand up to much abuse, and abuse happens when you hunt.
Went back to the broadhead hip quiver.
I have seen a few options in quiver mounts such as the groundpounder mount, and the wyvern creations mount, but for now I'll stick with the old hip quiver.
BTW - I designed a mount similar to the groundpounder but using only 1 post and an O-ring in a groove on the bottom of the post to lock it in place so it doesn't swivel. My buddy who owns a Phoenix had the machine shop where he works turn one for him and he installed it a couple years ago. No problems with it so far, but I don't know of any place to get them machined for a reasonable price, so I haven't looked at making any. It also allowed the quiver to be mounted parallel to the rail, or parallel to the limbs like the Dan Miller mount.

My Mount is the
Miller Mount I like the postion of the arrows when its on the Xbow, and I can carry it too and from my hunting sight, sit it down without crushing the Fletching.

Most of the other Crossbow Mfgs. have the same problem. Mounting under the bow isn't the best locations.
SO, OK, "EXCALIBUR"
" MAKE US PROUD, DESIGN FOR US, THE BEST QUIVER MOUNTING SYSTEM, TO GO ALONG WITH THE BEST CROSSBOWS MADE"
BETTER THAN THE MILLER MOUNT
BETTER THAN MUNCH
BETTER THAN GROUNDPOUNDER
I feel better now.

I've been using Danny Millers mount not had any problems with it seem to be out of the way ,also your not sticking your arrows in the ground when you lay the bow down,or lower it out of your tree stand.I like it so far no problems at all with it, also Danny said he would stand behind it if I had problems good enuff for me .... Hey, I turned it around like everyone told me to!
Still having problems, the arrows get in the way.
So I thought I would try the Miller mount and gave Dan a call.
He said he saw my prior installations and refuses to sell me one!

I'll be the black sheep of the family here but I happen to like the quiver mount from excalibur; no problems at all; I take the quiver off when I reach my hunting spot;
