2 nd doe down

Post by mdcrossbow »

Took a nice 2 YO this morning in Va. 7 yard shot she went 35 yards. These deer were picking me up walking around the lake and through the woods so I tricked them up with a short canoe trip which took me to with in 40 yards of my stand.

Nice job on the trickery! Went 35 yards, I guess she almost loaded herself in the Canoe. :) That would have been awesome!!!!

Congrats on the doe!

You Slick Tricked it, I suppose?

The canoe is a sweet way to go. Once on the bank it's up hill to the stand which makes a very easy drag. Van is parked next to the shore. Couldn't get any easier unless she jumped in the canoe and died. LOL

Thanks All.

BTW fresh rub showed up this week. Maybe next weekend the buck will show.

There are 350 acres plus 2 of the surrounding farms to hunt.here is the Lake and a description of the area. From the beach to the other side and straight up the hill to the green dot. The deer walk horizontal to the lake. The area to the left of the stand is now about 10 years of over growth from clear cutting so it's thick un huntable. This is the bedding area. I'm about 30 yards from the main exit of the bedding area which extends to the back end of the lake. I am located at the jointing trail to the pines . I selected this location because it's the shortest route to the fields from the right side of the lake. Usually the bucks don't come out till dark so I figured getting to a close exit of the bedding area should pay off. I have not hunted the stand for the evening yet. just 3 times for morning to catch there return. 1st & 2nd hunt I watched the movement and they know something was up when they came into the area I was in. Reason for the canoe. Any suggestion from the panel ? red area is sanctuary
The other green dots are stand sights that we have taken deer with ML's BTW this is awesome for turkey, Big one's have been taken from the fields and hard woods. Whats really nice Is I am the only hunters beside the owner when he is in Town.
