slick trick cutting diameter question.

just recieved my equinox monday and my laser II bolts 20" with brass inserts and 4" vanes. I bought slick trick 100gr. standards. Threre 1" cutting diameter, should I go to the 1 1/8 instead ?

I have them in Magnum and it was great on the doe I shot. Nice big hole!

Use what you have, unless you can return them. Those ones you have will do a great job, but the bigger the better.

The 1 1/8" are 1/16" bigger on a side. I've stuck w/ them since I 1st tried them but have read equally good things about the 1" standards. Some even claim they fly better, but I have my doubts on noticeable diff in that little bit.

Bob . . .you and I agree on a few things, this is certainly one of them. :lol:


It's not as much an issue of the small heads as it is an issue of total cutting surface. For example a Slick Trick 1" has 4 blades doing the cutting. Another broadhead may offer 1.75" cutting diameter, but, only have two blades and the little bleeder blades. You would have to measure the cutting area to see if there is really a cutting difference between the broadheads.

You want the most cutting surface. That isn't always the largest cutting diameter.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.
