Thank you all for your replies. My next deer is going to have to be a big one. We have plenty of meat but we still like to donate some to people that need it. That is what we did with the meat from Dad's big 8 pointer. He was huge. Dad is still happy because of that deer. I can't wait to go to Texas. Maybe I'll get one that big :D . Mr. Mike you are right. I am ready. I killed this buck at 200 yards with Dad's 308. That's the gun that I will be shooting in Texas. I hope that all of you got a deer this week :D .

I know you are Tyler. Check out the thread "Buck of a Lifetime" I just posted. I had you in mind when I wrote that little piece. It also includes a picture of me when I was young with a little ranch ten pointer.

I expect yours will be much, much larger!

Congrats again, I used to hunt with a 308, that's a pretty good recoil there.

Philip, that bear attempted to cross the highway very close to Tyler's school  . There are a lot of bears between New Bern and Kinston. In fact, our hunting club is located just off of Hwy 70 near the Cove City exit  . We do have a few big ones on the club:

Of course the really big ones are in Grizz's front yard    .
