Any Tree Saddle Users?

Post by DeepSouthHunter »

Just wondering if anyone here hunts from a tree saddle? I just bought one from the classifieds over at archerytalk that I plan on using later in the season once I get some practice in. It should be fun!

Depends on just how big that saddle is, I'd think! :P :P

Looks to me like a man could get saddle-sore pretty easy!

Everytime I hear of one I want to try it, it looks like a great way to hunt, and a bit different too.
Looking forward to hearing how it works out!

That was my thoughts too Pydpiper. I have spent countless hours reading about them on different forums so I finally decided to get off the fence and get one.

HaHa grizz! I hope this thing is as comfortable as advertised because I'm a decent sized guy at 6-2, 240 lbs.

I've seen them at the Sportman's Show. I've wondered how well the Tree Saddle would work with the horizontal limbs of a crossbow, since you would seem to be facing the tree trunk much of the time.

Thanks Exomaxer. I can't wait to start practicing with mine when it comes in. I need to read John's book as well. I've read his praise about the tree saddle on a couple of forms and that helped my decision to get one. It will benefit me tremendously on the public land I hunt.

I use a home-made version of a saddle--i have a plywood base with a THICK foam pad--otherwise, it is nylon seat-belt material hooked on to a 1/2" hollow braid black rope with a Chinese loop and a carabeaner--use a hand drill, grade 8 bolts and any tree is fair game.
