first buck of season

Post by MrBigSticks »

Here are the photos of a nice ten pointer took tonite . It was an amazing hunt this evening i had 3 does come down a steep hill behind me at about 5:45 and at 5:48 i heard noise coming down the same hill and it was a nice 8 pointer on there tail. i had passes on this same 8 pointer 3 times earlier this week waiting on a bigger buck. And at 6:05 off to my right in the field i hunt next too i saw this deer coming at about 90 yards all the while the 3 does and the other 8 pointer were still behing me in the timber. This nice deer decided to walk right underneath my stand offering a 20 yd broadside shot . As i pulled up my exocet he looked right up at me but it was too late i shot and got both lungs he ran about 15 yards and blew very hard and stood still a few seconds and then ran another 30 yards and staggered and dropped . I love it when they die in field so i can back right up to em and no dragging up from bottom of deepest ravine lol.
Heres a few pics i took from my cell not the best quality maybe i can take more in am with my camera.
chalk one up for team heartstoppers from illinois

Where I am in Michigan I can't imagine passing up an 8pt. Congrats on taking a fine buck.

Very nice... you should be very proud. I heard once that the best way to get a big buck was to pass on everything except big bucks! You proved it works! Congrats.
