Excalibur Exocet 165 question

Post by Cryon »

When and why did the arrow weight specifications change from the original Exocet's with Carved tip limbs

Excaliburs Exocets manufactured circa 2000 had the following specs:

Velocity = 270FPS
Draw Weight = 165lbs.
Power Stroke = 15"
Mass Weight = 6.1lbs.
Overall Length = 38"
Arrow Length = 20"
Arrow Weight = 400 Grain Min.
Finish = 3 Colour Camouflage

From a 400 grain arrow to a 350 grain minimum arrow weight?
Because of the Cast risers and Carved tip limbs as opposed to the Flat machined riser or Angled riser with mag tip limbs?

Just looking for a little bit of history clarification

I suppose one can speculate, and come up with several reasons. I do remember that when magtips were first introduced circa 2001/2002, they were not achieving the advertised speeds. So that might be the reason. However, that would only be speculation.

The best person to ask and have answer that question would be someone from Excalibur. :wink:

I don't know all of the answers, the mag tip limbs use diff limb technolgy i think. Allows them using of diff strings, lighter arrow weight without limb damage
