Finally!

Post by bullfood »

Haven't seen a deer within range for the last 2 seasons until tonight.
Doe came through the thick brush at about 4:00 pm and hung up looking behind her for 30 min. When she looked away from my direction I lifted my Exocet 175 to prep a shot at what I hoped would be a buck following her. Bumped the edge of my ground blind with the limb and was in a staring contest w/suspicious doe @ 30 yds for 15 min. I new that any deer in the bush would stay put so opted to take the doe when she finally turned broadside.
Heard the impact of the bolt which passed right through her lungs and out the other side. She ran slowly for 75 yds and dropped inside cedar bush.
First crossbow deer. We still have 2 tags and will now definitely hold out for a buck.
Finally!

Well done. 2 years is a long time. Hopefully now they will come a bit easier.

Wise decision to take that shot. One in the freezer and you'll see a buck for sure now that the pressure is off.
