I left my cell phone in the woods a couple of years ago. I had called my Grandfather to come pick up me and my deer. Traced and retraced my every step from the field to the barn. Took everything out of the truck. Nothing. As far as I know, it's still out there, probably in a raven's nest.

A friend's son left his BPS shotgun on the roof of the car as he left a hunting spot. It fell off and someone found it before he returned. But the person who found it recognized Bill's gun and returned it. This, in a parking space of a public hunting spot!

Bolts!

One day i went in and forget my quiver, Had only the bolt loaded in the crossbow. Thougth "oh well should only need one shot anyway right?' I had not yet shot a deer with the X bow. at 7:15 a yearling doe walks right into my set up from 200 yards out without breaking stride. I shoot her at 20 yards and know she goes down. I decide to give her 30 min and low and behold another bigger doe comes out at 30 yards, then another. the two new does proceed to march infront of me at 30 yards for the next 45 minutes as if they know there was nothing I could do about it.

All I could do was take cell phone pics of them and experiment with whistling and baaing them to stop.

I called my hunting buddy to sneak into the blind and bring me bolts but even though he was very quiet, they made him from hundreds of yards away - learned allot that day.

Years ago my Dad forgot his rifle at home. He had to leave the deer camp and make the two hour trek back home. When he got home Mom was there frowning at him because she knew he had packed all the essentials (rum and beer) and forgot his rifle  :x .

He never lived that one down. :D

It would have been worse if he never realized he forgot it.

I knew someone who's wife had placed an item in the gun case that was never discovered by her husband during his 'hunting trip'.

I've never forgotten anything while hunting! Too many mental check lists I guess.

But one of my buddies that hunts with us during the rifle season forgot the key for the trigger lock on his rifle at home last year. Opening day he was scrambling, trying to cut off that lock and still get to his stand before sunrise. He still managed to get a buck that day. But he only uses combination trigger locks now and has convinced others to do the same.

Broadside,
your post has something wrong with it. are you using an avatar? if not check with the moderator to see what can be done as it is the same as others using huge avators. Your text is way on the right side and nothing but an "x" on the left. thanks

I've forgotten my treesteps a few times.

A couple weeks back I forgot my camo jacket in the vehicle.

Pee bottle. Makes for a short stay in the tree.

When you are my age and forget something it's called........ " A Senior Moment " :D

I have left my rifle at my farm's gate once, but I remembered in time to turn around and go back.

It seems every time I forget to something or things start to go wrong, I usually score that trip.
I don't know why it happens that way. :? :D
