Va is snowed in

Post by crazyfarmer »

We have 7-8inches here so far. Out west they are calling for 12-22inches of this white stuff. Its just sleeting here now, but we are forcasted to pick up another 3-4 inches around 3-4pm today.

Ill get some pictures later, but its a mess here! All roads are completely white

im actually debating firing up the tractor and taking it to a hunting spot later LOL

We got 9.5" CF, it has lightened up a little now, but they are calling for up to 12 more inches by tomorrow. The roads are driveable here with 4 wheel drive. APH was shut down today so no hunting for me. My 2 labs love the snow, here's a pic of my new 5 month old Hanna in the snow.

Roly,

I'm just 45 minutes from CF, we have had very mild winters for the last few years. A 6" snow storm once a year is about norm. By the time this one is done it will have been the worst since 2003 the news said. Parts of VA are expected to get up to 24", I know that's snowball fighting weather for you guys, but it cripples us down here.

Well I am hoping that with buying a snowblower last week it won't snow anymore up here. You know, just the opposite of the saying if you wash your car it will certainly rain.............

some parts of the state had 17-21inches.. we got lucky and missed the bulk of it. The next thing is getting the stuff to melt. Look out for flooding since we have had the wettest fall to date! We are already 6inches above norm without this snow

Down in the Cape Fear region of N.C. we get a little snow every 10 years or so and no one has a clue as to what to do.... but lucky me, I am in Jersey City N.J. enjoying the wind and snow.

Hasn't yet started in the part of Connecticut that I live in but they're predicting as much as 18" before the storm passes through. If it is the light fluffy type snow than it should not be a big deal for me to blow my ~680' driveway. If it is a heavy snow then I've got to get out several times in order to keep up with the accumulation.

Take care and be safe...

We've got 24" here so far. Hopefully it stops sometime soon. Butt deep snow is just no fun at all.

Hey CF . . .what will that do to the birth rate in 9 months?

My parents got 15 inches of snow in good ole Galax, VA.

We got wet here. :D

Have fun in that stuff . . .I miss it.

Thankfully the predictions for my area of Connecticut were way over stated. Nothing near 18", maybe 6" or so with some very light snow still falling. Guess maybe 3 hours or so to go before it all ends.

Be safe...
