Double header Friday!

Double header Friday!
My young buddy and I both filled our remaining archery tags on Dec 18.....2 large mature does. The colder weather has sure increased the daylight deer sightings as of late.
This is my pals 2nd year bowhunting with a hand me down Exocet 165....he has tried very hard this year to close the deal and finally made his first bow harvest after 30 plus sits. I am very proud of his dedication in making bow harvest.
We were on the same property about 700 yards apart and he comes marching to my stand dragging our plastic sled with 10 minutes of legal time left. I signal him to climb my stand in silence and he whispers to me about his exciting shot and harvest that happened a half hour ago. All of a sudden I see 2 does come out with my pal still standing on my ladder....hard to believe!
He is with the program in silence and I make the shot at 32 yards....double lung pass thru but high with not great volumes of blood.
We check the shot area and find the arrow and then decide to gut and load my pals deer before attempting my recovery...his shot was at 15 yards with a zero yard recovery (spine).
My recovery was 100 yards.
What a memorable night after such a tough season!

Congrats. Gotta say, there are few things finer than tracking in the snow.

Congrat's. I still have an archery tag as well for WMU 92. No Florida trip for me this x-mas so I will try over the holidays......
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.
