Nice doe on a cold and miserable day

Post by bullfood »

The wind was blowing the snow around and the temp was well below 0c but at 230 today I got a warm spell in the form of a nice mature doe which did not have a fawn. Hit artery above the heart and both lungs at 27 yd but she still went over 100 yds.
I have never seen a deer with so much black on them. She had a mainly black lower neck and underside to her chest and a lot of black on her back as well. Sorry no pics as my camera is at one of our Christmas destinations.
Last day out for the year so very pleased

Congrats on the cold weather doe. I too was out today, however the only thing warm was the truck on my way home..
It loos like tomorrow will be my last day, hopefully I will have some of the same luck as you.

Congrats. Hunting in the snow is always great fun...and even better when you are successful.
