Had to say goodbye to our K9 hunting buddy

Post by ninepointer »

For 12 hunting seasons our merry little hound "Lucy" struck fear in the hearts of Ontario's rabbits. Yet she was always as gentle as lamb with every person she met, big or small. An incurable and rapidly deteriorating condition forced us to make the hard decision to put her down today. Get that rabbit, girl!

My heart goes out to you! I'm so sorry your dear Lucy is gone.

Theologists might slam me, but I sure hope that somewhere in eternity we'll be able to be with our faithful canine companions again.

I'm sure that Lucy is somewhere "bawling" at one with the commanding voice that only a seasoned beagle can send through a hedge row. I know it hurts and we will certainly be praying for you all.
God Bless !!!!!!!!!

Sorry man.Brings tears to my eyes, reminds me of Molly my once-in-a-lifetime Springer. She perceived her roles in life as to love me and to hunt, in that order.
She filled them both admirably.

We only get them 'on loan'. Be glad for all the good times, they far outweigh your moment[s] of sorrow. As a fellow dog lover, I understand and hope you 'get' my thoughts.

Best bet, get a pup and start again.

They say we never live long enough to have all the dogs we would like to have. I usually cry my eyes out when I have to put one away. And as usual I get another.

I'm sure she left a lot of good memories, though.

that is one of the most difficult and painful decisions a dog owner has to make. It doesn't get easier and is not made easier, at the time, by the knowledge that it is the best thing for your friend. My condolences.
