Mr. Nasty. Will take fingers and hands.

This was going to lay her eggs, but she got stolen before she could finish. This is what we call a painted turtle that you used to buy in the 5 & 10 for 25 cents. Now you see how big they really get if you kept one that long.

These here belong to a friend of mine. They pick them up wherever they see one and bring them home. They also feed them dog food, fruit, but it seems like they prefer dog food over anything else. The little one in my hand will be a year old in June, so it takes a while for these to grow.

The dog had to get into the act. I don't know if he liked them eating the dog food or not, but he had to pose, too.

Too bad there's a greedy idiot out there  . Almost looks like you have a petting zoo happening there!

I agree, how ever some many get ran over here with the tour season, Tina and Darrell turn scores of these back into the wild after a year, like the one I'm holding, I see this as a plus for they are giving back :D

I bring the occasional snapper home, but it's a one-way ride.

If they were easier to clean I might bring more, but it's a job to clean one so I've convinced my wife (who loves turtle meat) it's in the interest of conservation that I only keep one every year or two.
