So I just want to console myself that I'm not the only one who's ever pulled out his arrow to find that the entire front insert, tip and all stayed in the target...if I am, just lie to me and say it happens to lots of people
Can't for the life of me figure how i'm going to get that thing out though...

Bingo...firebolts it is
I guess when I'm all out of those I'll get some custom arrows

Shouldn't happen...that shot was a bit of center. LOL
Funny though, I bought a brand new target too...one of those layered foam things. Oh well, didn't happen with any other of my arrows.
Maybe I should re-glue them or something?

i really dont think it matters what glue or how you make them.. glues seem to weaken over time and weather does funny things to them. Ive never had one of mine pull out personally, but a few that have gotten arrows had one pull out here and there. Not sure what targets they use though. I know some targets like to lock the arrow in place and its like pulling a sword from a rock!
its rare but sooner or later some will pull out.. it does seem more common on store bought arrows than the custom ones we all make here. I use goat tuff and love it! Just keep it off your fingers!
just get some inserts and glue to have on hand.. Its always nice to have some glue on hand incase a vane starts peeling from pass through or miss shots(digging under grass). A little drop here and there can save the whole arrow for years to come

Nameless, my ass. I still blame the crappy target.

Aw, Geez!! Had this happen a lot w/ GT L II's and brass inserts. Got enough loot in targets to buy a new Excal. Far as I can tell, no rhyme or reason. Don't believe it's the targets. Sh*t happens.
I've tried a gazillion glues, lost my notes, but am going w/ Gorilla Glue next, water added type w/o water, not a 'super' glue, and am basing this on advice from guys I've come to really respect over the years.
"i really dont think it matters what glue or how you make them."
Beg to differ, the only problems I've had with inserts coming out was on those which had been installed with cyanoacrylate (aka 'crazy glue) which does break down faster than some other glues. It's being used in some manufacturing because short drying time - and glue - is required. It works for a while but often lets loose with time, esp when shot from my faster bows; presumably because they are driven deeper into the target. Failing to remove the carbon dust from the insert area (from when the arrow is cut to size)also causes poor adhesion. All my losing insert problems ceased when I started making my own arrows. I first clean out both ends with alcohol or acetone, then use Gorilla Glue for inserts. I use hot melt glue for nocks, esp the arrows for my 'off-brand' bow that take moon nocks; that way I can adjust the nock easily after re-fletching if necessary.
Thanks for the advice all, as soon as I get a chance I'm going to pull that field point and insert from my target and get some of Gorilla Glue stuff...Thanks again

Not much I can add to the solution for the problem, but at least the discussion got me thinking.
I've had the same problem several times, and if my memory is correct (always a questionable statement for me) it has usually been with carbon arrow shafts. I'm sure it has happened with wood shafts (stickbow launched ) and aluminum shafts, but by far the biggest problem has been with carbon shafts.
I think it would be safe to say the carbon materials require much more attention when it comes to preparation for bonding an insert.
Was out this past weekend sighting in my new Ibex with a couple friends. One of my buddies shot at the target from 40 yards using the 30 yard crosshair. The arrow (with field point) went under the target and got stuck in a fallen tree. We worked on it for 5 minutes or so and were able to remove it. The field point, however, is stuck in the arrow and can't be twisted out.

I believe your situation sucks more than mine.
