I have a new crossbow with the bolts inlcuded. Do I need to place some kind of insert in the end of bolt before shooting? If so, where do I get them?
Thx

Re: end caps
Excalibur cross bows shoot a flat nock bolt if you go tExcalibur carbon bolts with your set up they will have an aluminum insert for a rear nock that allows the use of an arrow puller to be used.

Re: end caps
As long as there is a flat insert in the bolt, you are good to go.
Most bolts that I use have the inserts that you screw your broad head into.

Re: end caps
I think you must mean field tip (used for practice) or broadhead (used for hunting). Your arrowx (not bolts) likely came with the nock (back end) and insert (front end) what the tips screw into. Suggest you view the Instructional videos, then ask away.

Re: end caps
Are you wondering why the rear insert at the fletched end is threaded? If so, that is where you are able to thread in a arrow removal tool when/if your arrow becomes stuck in your target.
Nothing needs to be threaded in there for shooting the arrow.

GT alum nocks are about 22 gr, inserts are 32 gr. The inserts have a bigger hole in front unthreaded at fwd end.
haven't had much luck w/ screw in arrow puller, use Danny's pliers type, grips the shafts.

I was referring to the fletched end. Looks like I'm good to go. Thx for all the responses!
