First deer pic on my property!

Post by Boo »

This is the first deer captured on a game cam on my property. There are loads of turkeys! One cam is going to capture a bunch of cops! They were there to remove some pot plants! I found some and reported the incident and they came down and ripped out a whole whack of them that were identified by chopper.

Good looking doe, a bit shy, but, good looking.

No big buck pictures?

There's a setting on the camera for big buck pictures. You need to set the camera correctly before it will capture those pictures. Go to your main menu, under "file" choose "settings", then click on "trophy" . . .that should do it.

Great to see some critters on your place Don. When I first moved to my place I found over 70 plants tucked in a corner of my property. Same thing they were removed and the there were some unlucky teenagers or adults for that matter over it. Not sure if it is related but the following spring we got broke into and robbed. Be careful out there. Always good to have a DTA ( don't trust anyone ) attiude at first and see who is in the neighborhood.

A close friend had an employee who had some land near Toronto. That land had pot growing (no clue how much) and was charged for cultivation because they could not prove to the police that they were not growing it. They spend a lot of time and money to stay out of jail. The moral of the story is get to know what is on your land and report anything illegal.

Deer to eat Marajuana and people that grow this stuff place things to keep the deer away like strong smelling soaps, cologne and deoderant which can have an effect on deer travelling routes as well as people in the woods spooking them.
Marajuana is usually harvested prior to October 1st so chances are that you will not run in to any one during hunting season. I have previously come across patches of this stuff growing and have just left the area till the season begins with out reporting it as you never know if it is the property owner or his relatives/employee's growing it and I do not want to give any one a reason to come after me while I am in a treestand alone!
