I rarely have nightmares, but when I do they're of bears!

Just got back from a week of camping and the last 5 days we've had bears right behind our site. People had tents and coolers trashed (left food out - can hardly blame the bears). I wasn't too worried as we keep a very clean site (because of my bear paranoia), but I would have slept better with my 30-06 handy!

I've bowhunted and guided for Bear for over 30 years and It is very common to find scat up in the stands we set out...as bear are very curious. They "mark" new things by biting them or crapping on them.
I have never found a bear up in a stand posing for a picture and think this one, which I have seen in other emails with multiple bears up in treestands , to be staged or photoshopped.

That's a great park! I'm heading there Thanksgiving Weekend! No bears at that time of year (the ranger tells us that is smells like bacon and egg heaven there right now.....thus the bears)!

Tons of deer! We saw 14 deer over 1 1/2 days of being there last year. There's a picture of my daughter somewhere standing within 5 yards of a doe I'll have to post!

Mike you're right about the bacon & eggs! UGH. And about the deer. We were just about over run by them. Nice to see and hear though.

We used to go up every Thanksgiving too - it was the most beautiful time of the year up there.

Not always the case with the bears. We were camped there on a Thanksgiving week-end a few years ago and one was on the road at the main gate when I was coming into the park.
You're right about the deer. I think we counted 11 of them in the first 24 hours there! :D
