Buck and doe at the creek..new PIC of buck

Post by Hoss »

I went down by the creek looking around yesterday and I took my camera with my zoom lens. I saw these 2 chillin down by the creek..Pretty cool...Nice buck in velvet....I was up on a ridge looking down, wind was right and they never saw me..300mm lens..notice turkey feather..

here is a side view of that buck in velvet..I went back down the creek and got a bit closer trying to get a better pic.The doe where wandering on down the creek a little. I got caught up in watching them to see where they were and when I looked at him he was on to me .I got caught as you can see...After this side pic he shot out of there like a rocket...

Looks like they found a good spot to relax.

Might be worth checking again come season.

Yes it is good to get one on them..but thats how it goes..I think they know when season is here....Thanks for the good words boys..The creek was almost dry and it was good quite sneekin in the kinda wet but not muddy bottom. I was winding around the creek channels looking far ahead and i saw them walking as I was down the creek. I know this place pretty well so I played the right side of the creek for the wind and went down a piece on the other side of the bank which is kinda tall and big rocks......I snuk up the bank and got this shot..I was surprized that they never heard me slip and slid once....it was awsome...but you can bet when season comes around I wont see HIM! But it was a good kill with the camera....
