VA opening day buck
Yesterday was our VA bow opener and I let an arrow fly from the Mathews on this buck yesterday afternoon. I was hunting a swamp crossing that came into a stand of dropping white oaks. He came from the swamp and I watched him make a scrape and feed on acorns until he gave me a 18 yards shot. The shot entered his shoulder center mass, straight up the middle of his front leg and exited his arm pit on the opposite side. He ran 30 yards, hooked back to me and piled up. By far, not the biggest nor the oldest buck around, but a good way to break the ice after a 9 month wait.

Actually I switched back to a Thunderhead 100. I used Thunderheads for 20+ years, but switched when I started shooting the Exocet, never could get them to group after 20 yards. They shoot great out of the Mathews so they will be on the end of my Gold Tips again.
