thanks for reply to Pass through shots

Post by jacktar »

Thanks so much for the five who helped with this question. It's so good to be a part of this forum, there is so much to be gained. I've killed my share of deer with a rifle but the cross bow has now got me hooked. My wife and I tracked this deer for what seemed like forever and we ended up at a big big swamp, and lost him there. I hate to let one go like that but at least he will feed something else, everyones got to eat. I was so angry with myself for non-recovery that I almost packed the whole thing in. I'm so lucky to have a wife that encouraged me to add it up to experiance and try again. Plus she is a great tracker as well. Thanks again.

Everyone feels like packing it in when that happens, Sleep well knowing you did all in your power to find it.

I have anguished over lost game. It happens to just about every hunter who has a conscience. Somehow, sometime, I'm getting another dog, and it WILL be trained to blood track.....
