I always learn something from you, Bob. I'm sure glad you post here. I am not the climber-tree-stand type but I'm going to buy some rubber roofing material for other modifications. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, that'd be me.

I usually add a more Grizzly-sized seat. :lol:

I think they anticipate smaller bears using them when they design them! :P :wink:

I've modified most stands I've owned.
Sometimes a little effort with a welder can increase comfort immensely. :lol:
Most of my ladder stands get extended to set out about 4" farther from the tree for example. A lot better feeling when I can lean back a little in the seat. :roll:

I also add a cable lock or chain & padlock to my ladder stands. Not only for security, but if a ratchet strap would break the stand will still be attached to the tree.

Never had one I didn't "enhance" They all seem to make noise when its really cold. I like to "plasticize & rubberize" em all. ladders are the worst, and I don't even use them for bow hunting anymore. Rifle only for ladders.
