My Duck dog while away on a Blk Powder trip

Post by Hoss »

I went to the river on a blk powder hunt for a week..pulled down on a few slick heads and passed on a few scrub bucks. Isaw one nice one but he was running hard no shot. I got a call from my wife mid week my 6 year old premium duck dog got out of the lectric fence somehow and got hit by a car..i had to rush home and take care of her. i took her to the vet, her left rear foot was completly destroyed. amputation was the only way. Now i have a tripawd retriever. lol. I know she will be fine and i do believe she will hunt again. To think I almost took her with me. Dangit.

I love my dog and am sorry to hear about yours. Maybe you can design some sort of prosthetic foot. If you can come up with something good that works well you could even try and sell the design. I see opportunity in this tragedy.
Good luck to you and her both. Gary

This is the second time that I have gotten bad news involving a duck dog. I hate to hear about your dog, but I bet this little set back won't slow her down much.
Good luck!
