I am leaning toward the Ibex. Little less poundage and light.

From the pics that buck is a decent one for sure. Nothing wrong with shooting one that isn't a "book" buck, most of them never will be, anyway! If you let all the little ones walk and pass on their genes the "trophy racks" just might get scarce in the future.

If you're anything like me those antlers will make a dandy coat rack, and think of all the $$$$ you saved in taxidermy charges.

Good going Aging. I've only made one spine shot and had to get down and finish him like you did. It was ugly but I must say it was the easiest retrieval of any deer I've taken. Gary

Yes, a spine shot does beat tracking and draging for sure.

Some folks here would argue that a spine shot keeps the deer from running toward your truck.
