If it aint broke...don't fix it!!
Words of wisdom that I should have listened to!! Changed my arrows and broadheads earlier in the season, but just could not get the accuracy out of fixed blades I wanted.
Switched back to my firebolts and spitfires...drivin tacks again!!!

That is 50 yards with broadheads? Very nice!

Should do the trick!

Very impressive.
Were you getting 50 yard groups like that before the switch? If so why did you switch? Were you maybe looking for for more speed/flatter shooting by using a lighter arrow, something else?
Thanks...

I was not even getting a 3 inch group at 40yds,much less this!bkisel wrote:Very impressive.

I switched to a heavier arrow and fixed blades becuse I thought I would get better results on bigger hogs...but my accuracy went way south!!
This group was shot with spitfire practice broadheads...and no I would never shoot a critter at 50yds! I have trouble enough hitting them at 30!!!

Re: If it aint broke...
One of these day when I have time to kill, I'm going to simply take some broadheads right out of the wrapper, throw them on an arrow and shoot them at the target. No spinning, nothing.
I wonder what the results would be. I'll bet we would be surprised at how well the Spitfires would fly. They are a pertty darn good broadhead.
I wish they would come in a 2" cut. Right now I shoot them at groundhogs. I use the Stricknines for deer.
I'm not surprised at all at the 50 yard group . . .afterall, they are the next best things to field points. If you can group field points, then you can group Spitfires. No need wasting your time shooting them.

Re: If it aint broke...
Seems like I'm always trying out new broadheads, but when I go hunting I stick with what's worked well in the past.
