Got the cart before the horse a little there, eh? Fortunately, the Exomax is a great bow.

Have you ever owned a crossbow before?

Did you get the Right Stuff Package? What arrow/broadhead combination are you using? Been hunting yet? :D

Take your time. Watch the video twice, at least. Keep you fingers lower than the rail. Fire your first shot or two from 10 yards, then go to 20 and shoot from there until you are very comfortable with the crossbow.

Have you done any bow hunting before? Did you get a scope?

Watch the video and take it slow.

You will want to develop a routine for shooting. Making sure that the last thing you do before putting your eye toward the scope is to make sure there is an arrow loaded.

Sighting in the scope can be confusing. Just sight it in from 20 yards out. From the 20 yard marker you use the up and down adjustments just like any other scope. Get the scope perfect before moving to 30 yards. From 30, 40 or 50 yards, you adjust the speed dial for up or down and the regular "L" or "R" dial for left or right adjustments.

When you are ready to shoot broadheads, you will need to spin check them to make sure they are balanced and on the arrow squarely.

Enjoy . . .come back with questions as you encounter issues.

Watch the video. Again.

I suggest getting an arrow spinner. Some folks have made their own. I like this homemade rig.

got a great bow there ..
Just want to say im still learning but i defenantly take the things i read to heart,, these guys have some great advise based on excperiance,,
I got my exomax back in sept..
first thing i did was dryfire it and ruined a limb :(
but excal helped me out quikly :D
take the proper steps //
cock/safey/load/aim/check arrow/take off safety/fire.
when i say check arrow i mean see if its seated to the string..if it has slid foward and you shoot its like a partial dryfire :( practice these steps till they are automatic.
distractions are usualy what causes dryfires..

then i unloaded my CB in a hurry and almost lost a toe.
watch thos videos !! when Bill says tis is where it can get exciting real quick...He is RIGHT..lol
dont let me scare you once you get past the basics the fun begins..enjoy it..

The exomax is one power house of a crossbow and it was my first Excalibur choice ...then i bought a 175 exocet and i think i enjoy it more because its easy to cock and its lighter weight and the reason for that was i pimped out the exomax with any and all accessories that i could find .Dont get me wrong i love them both but if i was going to africa or moose hunting i would take the exomax but for deer and other smaller animals the exocet is all i need.
We all have more than one gun for hunting different animals with right? same with a crossbow to me ...like these guys said watch the video and read and come to this forum for advice and take your time be safe and enjoy.
