Another for the freezer..

Post by Hoss »

Hes not a whopper but for public land you take what you get. This feller had a big body and his rack was lacking to say the least..Glad to take this one.he will eat just fine..

I oplogize for not adding the details at first

I shot him with my exomag Mon morn at about 8. slick trick slammed him hard pass thru at 25yds. I watched him run about 4oyds and stop and look back to see what bit him..He then ran another 30yds did the death wobble and it was over all in about 13 seconds..I hunted for a little longer and then got the need for coffee. I got down went to the truck got my cart. I drank a cup of Java.went back and loaded him up. The cart works great Ive had it for years now. I use it for duck gear as well. It makes a long haul easyer for everyone. I couldnt do without it..

Hoss that is a darn good looking Dodge! My dad had a '74 power wagon club-cab. Congrats on your kill as well. :D

The Cart-----------

I almost lost it once..Last year we went to west Oklahoma deer hunting.. It was late in the night so we camped at a old home site in the truck. Well Bo my buddy moans in his sleep with every breath. I didnt know at first what the hell he was doing but then i realized this was his snorring. go figure. I couldnt handle that noise coming from my buddy that close to me with just us in the truck NOPE call me homophob thats fine.. Well I got out opened the tail gate and threw the deer cart out in the high grass. I slept in the back of the truck. Next morn alarm didnt go off. I woke up to Bo slammin on the window saying loud WE GOT TO GO! I was sleppin so good i forgot where i was at first. It was kinda shocking. I jumped up slammed the tail gate! Visions of being in the Marines hitting me with flashes......I didnt know if someone was after us or we were after someone or what the heck.. and said lets go!!!! half asleep...jumped in the truck and we were off...After the shock wore off in a few miles I had nothing on my mind but them 2 thermos's full of good black mud.. we spent the day scouting and found a good spot. set up camp and then----wheres the deer cart? OH CRAP...I left it miles away at some old homestead we could probly find not sure..days went by..on the way back home we couldnt find it..GREAT! Lost my deer cart. weeks later I went back that way to pheasant hunt with Jack. As we were traveling I found on my GPS that I had been tarcking our location as we were heading up last time..I could see a small deviation in the track at one point ( and we are talking hundreds of miles) I told Jack this has to be it..So we went out of our way to check it out..It was. Drove right up to it still setting there..wow i couldnt believe it...

Congrats on a fine Buck Hoss.

Looks like we have the same cart. I don't know what I would do in some Public areas I hunt because I get so far off the road. There's a few places on Ft. Gibson I hunt that I would hate to have to drag a deer out of there! Probably why so few other people hunt those areas!! :D

The only problem I've found is when carting in a Ladder stand. The cart gets top heavy and wants to flip over if you hit a patch of uneven ground or a rut.

But it's still better than trying to haul a 16ft ladder stand all by yourself!
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4
