finally going for 1st hunt of 2010

Post by bullfood »

I finally have the time and opportunity to go out w/my Exocet on the weekend. Weather looks good and good wind direction.
Last year I got out at the same time of year and had a lot of snow . Success came quick in the form of a nice dry doe. I was 50 yds from nice buck who stopped and followed a doe I had watched for 45 min. and only saw him on the trail cam after that.
I'm hunting south of Orillia and wonder if I should rattle of call at this time of year. My intention is to hunt over an area lightly baited with corn and carrots and I'm considering using Tink's All Season Smokin Deer sticks. There is no cash crop in my area only natural bush and meadow etc.
Does are tasty and I will take one later in Dec but would really like to harvest a buck
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated

Persoanlly I think its too late to rattle much. I think sents are always good though. I am still usning scents and have even resorted to an apple cooker over apples as bait in Markham, On.
