Congratulations on the c lean harvest of a great doe your persistence paid off.
I have a feeling we have a hooked crossbow hunter on our hands.
Good job on the gutting .
I haled out 2 Deer in my Honda CRV this year I keep large sheets of card board in the back for that purpose you have to make do with what you have.

The videos were probably better then a mate. Mine didnt warn me about popping the gut the first time....after it had been sitting for 3 hours Thats a whole different experience in hunting.
Did you get any photos of the vitals it hit, there my favourite
Keeping the skin or mounting it or anything like that? It is the first and its well worthy even if its not a massive buck.

Re: First notch on the Excal, and for me.
Thanks for all of your for the great comments and encouragement!! Very much appreciated.
Tenderloins on the bbq tonight! I can`t wait and yes I`m still smiling.
I didn`t get a picture of the vitals unfortunately, I was losing light FAST and wanted to get done asap as the coyotes were starting to circle. I had gone back to the car to drop off my backpack and bow and saw 2 yotes circling my buddy`s house. I loaded up the SAKO A7 and ran back to the deer. I removed the heart in 3 pieces, it was just destroyed, and one of the lungs was punctured. I was quite surprised I didn`t puncture the guts with my shot or with the incredible Nick Allen Mattawa knife during the panching.
I did have 5 large garbage bags in the trunk just incase but if I ever sell this car someone will think I used it to dump a body LOL. Some blood did run off the bags.
I shot a video at the impact site after I came out of the tree stand and I`m just SHAKING like a dog crappin` thumbtacks! I wasn`t any calmer in the video when I found the deer either LOL.
What do people do with does in terms of trophies? My bro suggested mounting the tail. The rest of the hide I will donate to Hides for Hats.

Nice one, way to go. Ya did a good job.
Re: First notch on the Excal, and for me.
Great way to bring in the Holidays! Your first (deer of course ) is always the best but it doesn't diminish much after that either! I still shake after every deer. It's addictive!

If you're not part of the solution, you might be part of the problem.
Re: First notch on the Excal, and for me.
Congrats on a fine kill and story!! I've been huntin deer over 45 years and still get the shakes after killin one. If that ever stops I'll stop huntin them.
Looks like I'm gonna have to get some of those grimreapers too!!
Hopefully next season I can get the Ibex bloody.
