I'm a newbie

Post by muskiewannabe »

Good morning everyone,

As goes the title I am a newbie. I still don’t have my new crossbow but I am only a few short weeks away, as it will be a birthday gift for myself. I am an avid fisherman and started deer hunting about 5 years ago, and am now going to start bow hunting next season for some extra time in the bush. A lot of what I am looking forward to is being able to shoot whenever I want without having to go to a gun range to shoot my rifle, not to mention the cost of bullets. I have thought about getting a crossbow for a few years but I just started to save for one after this past fall’s deer hunt.

I don’t have a ton of deer under my belt, I think 2 fawns and an assist on a nice doe this past fall. I have read through many posts over the past year or so and decided that I should sign up as I am now getting closer to owning my first Excalibur.

Cheers and thanks for providing such a great site!

We were all newbies once. You'll enjoy the extra time in the bush your bow will offer.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Welcome aboard!

As much as I like shooting my firearms I like shooting bows even more. Sometimes the thought of having to clean my gun after shooting, especially one of my revolvers, will have me taking a pass and spending that time on some other activity.

I am really excited to do a lot of shooting and I think I even have my wife is secretly excited to try it as well, not to mention a couple of nephews that have done some bow shooting. Another few weeks and I'll be shooting away in the in-laws backyard!
